SINCE 1937

Three Generations.
One Promise.
H.R. Sleek started hauling in 1937 with a single truck and a handshake. Today, his sons and grandsons run a modern fleet from the same Johnstown yard — and the handshake still counts. Now operating under the 3rd generation of the Sleek family, the same promise holds true — quality products, quality service, at a fair price.

From the Mines to the Turnpike
The Sleek Trucking business was founded in 1937 by Homer R. Sleek. After serving in WWII, Homer returned home and began working in the coal mines. He decided to leave mining, sold the family car to buy a dump truck, and H.R. Sleek & Sons, Inc. was formed.
He recognized an opportunity in the construction of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and Sleek Trucking was underway. Homer’s son Earl “Buck” became President in 1971 and led operations until 1990, when the third generation — Earl II “Buck” — took the chair and remains there today.
